The European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir (EMSOC) is an independent project organized by medical students for medical students.
Thanks to the union of the European Orchestra of Medical Students and the European Choir of Medical Students, the European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir (EMSOC) was born in 2009. Being part of EMSOC is a unique experience.
More than one hundred medical and musician students meet every year in a different country with the aim of sharing their passion for music. Friendship and collaboration between future medical doctors from all over Europe are also established.
Between July 18th and 28th, 2019, medical students from all over Europe will come to celebrate the XI EMSOC’s edition. During ten days, participants will have the opportunity to rehearse a musical program in order to offer two charity concerts at the end of the meeting on July 26th and 27th.
For the host country, EMSOC is an amazing opportunity to showcase its culture and history. There are many cities that have been lucky enough to host this project and Granada is an ideal place due to its long university and musical tradition.

European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir began in 2009 when European Medical Students’ Orchestra (EMSO) and European Medical Students’ Choir (EMSC) joined forces to perform a spectacular series of concerts in Ljubljana and Piran, Slovenia.
The European Orchestra of Medical Students (EMSO) was founded in Wurzburg, Germany, in 1993. The European Medical Students Choir (EMSC) was founded in London, England, in 1996.
The orchestra and the choir are made up of medical students and young doctors from all over Europe, all of whom have a talent and passion for musical interpretation. Each year, the orchestra and the choir meet in a different European city for approximately 10 days of intensive rehearsals and social activities, culminating in several fantastic concerts. Each edition is organized by students of Medicine and Doctors from the host country.
Since its origins, the project has grown in size and has become a symphonic orchestra and choir formed by approximately 120 musicians and singers from more than 25 European countries.
